Still Kicking
Despite getting Covid-19 at Thanksgiving in 2020, I'm still around. Still kicking. I am dealing with post-Covid issues, specifically my sense of smell which I had lost. I started to get it back and now it's completely scrambled. Good things smell like rotten garbage and burning plastic. Bad things don't have a smell. Some things smell like they're supposed to. Some things smell "weird" but not like garbage. I'm going to try to start posting on here more often. I have lots of awesome pictures, but I lost my home internet (pretty much permanently; don't ask) so I'm having to go mobile, or to a public computer. Which in this day and age is not really "a thing." But oh! I have such doll pictures to share! Such things! I'm making masks, too, so if you don't have enough or want something specific, let me know.
Wheeeethud.
Long week. Working extra hours and stuff. This is good because I'm also going on vacation NEXT week. Hoping that overtime pays off.
In the mean time...
DOLLS! and DOLLS!
Also, DOLLS!
KawaKon was awesome and amazing and exhausting.
Conflation was fun and silly.
Had a Hinamatsuri gathering with the local doll club.
Ran a fundraiser for STLBJDcon, lost a couple of guests due to scheduling conflicts, and gained a shiny new guest. Squee!
Working WAY too many events at work. Trying desperately to get more Embroidery jobs.
Played with my dolls for early-Easter. Had some fun with that!
Hoping for more doll oriented fun soon. Going camping i
New year, new projects
We're gearing up for Kawa Kon in February, and I'm running the Ball-Jointed-Doll track and the Cosplay track. We have some awesome things going on, not just in my tracks but also in the whole convention.
I love that this is a convention that embraces not only Anime, Manga, Japanese culture, and associated art, but also embraces SF/Fantasy elements such as Dr. Who, Harry Potter, Space Opera, Weird Counter-culture, music, internet phenomena, Steampunk, and many other genres. If you can get to St. Louis in mid-February, you should really come and check us out:

Two weeks thereafter, I get to put my feet up and relax at Conflati
Doll Notions
Doll-obsessed? Me? LOL.
I just had a birthday, and this year I treated myself to one doll, and my circle of friends treated me to another! I got the adorable blue Island Doll Leshy that I'd been dreaming about from my doll club members!
I also found the most awesome deal on the RealPuki I wanted; precisely how I wanted it. That doll arrived today, and I've posted some shots of the box-opening.
Considering names has been difficult. Leshy decided that he liked the name Zipper (and is a boy-ish thing.) Kaka (the RealPuki) isn't sure yet, but we're going back and forth between "Doo-Dah" and "Spool". Definitely something with an 'Ooo' sound in
